Crew Profile

Edward Blundell

Captain
British

From a young age, Ed was brought up on the water racing dinghies and small yachts. As a teenager, Ed worked part time on the River Thames in his home town of Windsor. After two years as a hand onboard passenger boats he obtained his Class 2 Inland Masters Lisence and moved up to Captain some of the largest passenger vessels working on the Thames as well as the companies 100 year old steam driven cruiser. From there followed a University degree in Marine Management to pave the way for a natural professional career on the waters. He started his journey to captain as a wide eyed and hardworking deckhand. Through tenacity, determination and a love of the ocean he has achieved his career goal of captain. When not at work he enjoys keeping fit as an avid distance runner and keen cyclist. Down time is spent with his family back in the UK where he can be found restoring classic British cars, wooden sailing dinghies and more recently customising motor bikes.

Sam joined Kjos in 2019 as 1st Mate, he prides himself in taking care of the yacht's exterior and is your first port of call for any of our water toys.

Rolf Peinke

Chief engineer
South African

Rolf was born and raised in South Africa where he grew up in the garage with his father, an engineer by trade, building and maintaining a vast collection of motor bikes. Rolfs love of all things engine and an ambition to see the world led him into the yachting industry back in 2007. Having started out working as deckhand Rolf quickly made the transition to engineer turning his hands from motor mechanics to yacht engineering. Rolf's time in the industry has taken him to many parts of the world exploring all corners of the Pacific and Atlantic. Keen to see new places Rolf came to the Med at the start of 2020 where he was quickly snapped up by Kjos.
