Andrew Johnstone


Andrew is from Bitish Columbia in Canada. He is a pragmatic, motivated Captain who has enjoyed a diverse career in the Maritime industry since 1978, built on personal integrity, honesty and reliability. His family had sailing yachts while growing up. As a teenager, he started racing and participated in 3 National Championships and 1 World Championship. To finance his university, he worked summers on Oceanographic research vessels. Starting his yachting career in 1984 in the Caribbean, he climbed the ranks to become an experienced captain on large motore yachts: 53m Amels KISS THE SKY, 60m Lurssen SOLEMATES, 73m Lurssen QUEEN K. His family motto is “Nunquam Non Paratus” which means “never unprepared”, perfect for a successful charter experience. He is an avid rower competing in regattas. He also enjoys crossfit training and restoring classic vehicles, currently owning 5 ones. He is an accomplished amateur photographer, with several of his photos published. He makes sure that the crew is keeping fit in order to perform to the best of their abilities for the benefit of charter guests.

Gionata Rossi


Born in Italy, Gionata has been a Chef for 25 years and worked for many VIPs in some of the best restaurants in the world.
He received a Michelin star and have been reviewed in the best gourmet guides. As a superyacht Chef, he believes that the cuisine served is not only a showpiece but nutrition as well. His passion for food varies from creating the perfect roast dinner to a 7-courses degustation menu to show a whole range of different cooking techniques and products. In his galley, he takes pride that everything is made from humble beginnings. Stocks, sauces & dressings are always made from scratch, ice creams are churned to order, pastas and gnocchi rolled fresh, fresh bread baked daily, meats and seafood are always fresh and
never frozen. He also specializes in vegan, vegetarian and low-calorie diets. He is also up to date with all the latest cooking techniques, methods & equipment so that he can keep up with the best and latest restaurants. His main talents are Italian and French cuisine whilst still offering Asian and Japanese dinners. Cooking demonstrations with the guests either at the table or in the kitchen are also a special touch he likes to offer the charter guests. He wishes to share his passion for food with clients and create an amazing atmosphere for their dining experience.

Mattia di Pierdomenico


Mattia was born in Ischia, grew up on this beautiful Island in front of Naples and started his career in the kitchen of the Mezzatorre, a luxurious hotel. He learnt his cooking skills in different restaurants before moving on board large motor yachts like Yersin, Reborn, Givi, Kiss the sky, Ariadna. On board SOLO, he is taking care of the crew meals and is also helping Gionata when guests are on board. He is extremely adaptable, cooking to suite every tastes. He has a particular interest in healthy and organic food as well as catering for specialist diets. Over the years he has gained great experience working in all aspects of restaurant service.

Valentina Pantani

Chief Stewardess

Born in Italy, Valentina is an experienced Chief Stewardess who worked on different charter yachts since 2001. She is meticulous and has excellent interpersonal and communicational skills. Having a strong passion for hospitality together with her outgoing personality and a high interest in travelling, she is leading her team towards perfection for a personalized service. She loves travelling and meeting new people. Valentina enthusiastically supports her team in all interior duties as needed and has the ability to easily and professionally interact with guests, providing excellent service in every aspect of their on-board experience. She ensures adaptable, professional and memorable service for charter guests.

Hazel Fearnley

2nd Stewardes

Born in the UK, she has been working in the yachting industry for the last 6 years. She has a highly experienced charter experience coming from a strong hospitality background, with positions in all areas of the industry, ranging from front of house, to cocktail and coffee making, to service, laundry and housekeeping. She is able to deliver an outstanding standard of service. She is an approachable good communicator, with a great eye for detail. She thrives as part of a team and likes to bring a positive uplifting energy. She puts energy and enthusiasm into whatever she does. Hazel is a keen explorer with a passion for other cultures, wildlife and nature. She recently completed her Yoga teacher training in India and can’t wait to teach, either for guests or crew! She spends most of her time travelling, backpacking across the world!

Linnea Bruhn

Stewardess & Personal trainer

Born in Sweden where she studied sports and health at University until recently, she just joined the yachting this Summer
for a good experience on board Lucky Me. She worked many years as a personal trainer and a nutritional advisor, waitress, housekeeper and as a nanny. Her last shore based job was at an organic food bar as a chef assistant, preparing healthy salads and delicious raw food desserts at the same time as she was running her own personal trainer business. She enjoys organizing fun and challenging workouts for the guests as well as the crew to keep everyone fit for the season.

Yaowalak Junalak

Stewardess & Spa Manager

Yaowalak is originally from Thailand where she learnt her skills as a stewardess and a beautician/masseuse. She has been working on different yachts before joining 147m TOPAZ. She is in charge of the spa, organizing the sauna, hammam sessions and giving relaxing massages to the guests. Expert in Thai traditional massage, she can also give aromatherapy massage, reflexology, facial treatments, Indian head massages…

Olena Spyrydonova


Olena was born and raised in Ukraine. She has over 10 years of experience in hospitality, ranging from restaurant manager
to working as a VIP Lead flight attendant on private aircraft with top Royalty families. She also have a good experience as a dining room supervisor on 120m M/Y ALEXANDER. She is very confident in service with an eye on details, good organization skills and positive personality. In her free time, she likes to learn everything new, enjoy sport, jogging, yoga, healthy lifestyle, read books, visit museums, live concerts, travelling.

Frida Nilsson


Frida was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Growing up close to the sea, the ocean was usually her playground. She has a very good background in land based hospitality and this is second experience in yachting after a successful one on BOADICEA. Today, some of her main hobbies include surfing, diving, and water skiing. She also enjoys climbing and skiing.

Giacomo Lombardi

Chief mate (on rotation)

Giacomo worked in the shipping industry for 5 years and climbed the ranks from Deck Cadet, 3rd Mate and 2nd Mate to Chief Mate. Then, he moved to the yachting industry working as Chief Officer and Captain for 5 years on board private and commercial yachts. He likes to discover new places, to work in team, to meet new people from different nationalities. He believes in teamwork where each person can give something to enrich the working results of the team.

Marzio Pacini

Chief mate (on rotation)

Born in Viareggio where the yacht industry is the main resource, his career start in 1990 when yachting became a passion sailing around the Mediterranean on sailboats, the yachting more than job was a fun for him. He spent the rest of the 90s working on sail boat, power boat and diving center but then he run a decision that was time to gain experience, serving on merchant ships first and then on mega yachts his skills grew up. Marzio’s experiences includes all Mediterranean Sea, Baltic Sea, Irish Sea, Red Sea and West Atlantic Ocean passing many time through the Gibraltar Strait.

Paolo Canu

Chief engineer (on rotation)

Paolo is a multi-skilled Chief Engineer with vast experience across marine/mechanical engineering, controlling operations, maintenance and repair, along with electrical and electronics. He has worked 11 successful years at sea which includes working at a managerial level on a variety of the world’s largest cruise ships and five years within the yachting industry. He is an approachable, reliable, hardworking and committed crew member. He was previously working as Chief Engineer on Sea Force One for the last 4 years and had four successful busy charter seasons.

Matteo Priano

Chief engineer (on rotation)

Matteo was born on 1981 in Savona, where he studied at Nautical College. After that he obtained his chief engineer unlimited certification, he started his career as Cadet Engineer. After 8 years with Costa Cruises, where he raised the rank from Cadet Engineer to 2nd Engineer, he started a new adventure with Princess Cruises. In the 2010 he moved to the yachting industry, working on TITAN, VICTORY, QUATROELLE and BOADICEA. In his spare time Matteo loves to ride his motorbikes and reading.

Vito Gancitano

2nd Engineer

Vito is from Sicily and he has been working on both, merchant ships and fishing boats, before joining the Yacht Industry in 2008. In the last 10 years he was the 2nd engineer on a very extensively used explorer yacht and cruised both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Hard worker and family man, Vito when on rest, like to enjoy his family, the beauty of his homeland and his dog. He joined SOLO with enthusiasm to meet new people, discover beautiful places and make sure that crew and guests are in safe hands.

Boyko Arsov


Boyko is a capable, enthusiastic and self motivated professional. His passion: solving problems with various electronic issues on cars, yachts, home multimedia and computer systems. With a keen eye for the problems and a good technical knowledge, he is always finding the way. He joined the yacht in the last stage before delivering to the owner. Working together with and supervising the companies finishing the installation onboard, he knows all equipment onboard and will help the guests to enjoy them.

Nico Maver

Officer of the watch

Nico comes from a family of sailors from Livorno, on the beautiful seaside of Tuscany, where he spent his youth around boats. He’s been sailing for most of his life and joined yachting six years ago. He’s been travelling all over Europe and the United States, he speaks fluent English and loves music, being a bit of a guitar player himself. He’s been working with both private and commercial yachts, in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean seas, with two Atlantic crossings on his back. Among being a Jet Ski instructor, he’s also a keen wakeboarder and has plenty of experience all around the water-sports.

Marko Bilos


Born in Croatia, he has always playing or working around the Sea. He gained a great experience working on board 90m Lürssen PHOENIX 2 for a couple of years. His roles onboard are vast with watch keeping as lookout, general deck duties, extensive use and supervision of water sports equipment and activities like Jet skis, seabobs, tender driving, wake boarding, fishing, SUP and the towing of inflatables.

Daniel Kostov


Daniel comes from Bulgaria but he lived most of his life in Croatia before starting his career at sea on board passenger vessels and ferries. He has been in yachting since 2011 working on 88m M/Y Delma, 147m M/Y Topaz, 80m M/Y Golden Odyssey 2 and 140m M/Y Ocean Victory. Whether on watch or working on decks, Daniel likes to be busy, occupied from the moment the sun rises until calmness descends with the strike of midnight (and possibly beyond!). He believes that life is worth exploring exotic locations, making lifelong friends, and wondering what’s next on the exhilarating itinerary. He thinks that two days are never the same at sea – and nor would he want them to be.

Dan Shoesmith

Deckhand & dive master

Dan was born in the UK and was always attracted by the Oceans. He started his yachting career at the age of 30 on board M/Y Pacific Sunrise. He quickly learnt the ropes and moved on some much bigger yachts like M/V Sherakahn and M/Y Azamanta as a dive master. In charge of the dive department of SOLO ordering all diving equipment, he is also responsible for the maintenance of water sports’ equipment, jet skis and drives the tenders. His experience of instructing and diving around the world for more that ten years will be benefiting for the charter guests. He takes conservation and protection of the oceans very seriously and will share his knowledge in a very respectful way.

Kieran Brown


Kieran was born in the UK and started his career in yachting four years ago. He worked on large yachts like FORTUNATE SUN & 85m ACE where he learnt high standards and team work. He is a good tender driver, performs all general deck duties and can train the younger crew. He is loyal and loves working at sea. He also enjoys being outdoor and physical challenges. A keen motorcycle rider, he drove 24,000 miles from Miami to Ushuaia.
